I get the feeling that this is the source for ,an android app that needs building.

It seems to use a framework called gradle, but it won't compile for me (complains about kotlin)

Superficially looking, it looks like the best way to resolve issues is to use Android Studio, which can create apps easily, and uses gradle/kotlin etc.

I don't get a chance to get on a desktop much, and time is scarce :(

Am going to look if I get the time, but hopes are not high ATM.

Try pasting the gradle and other config files into ChatGPT, it's good at this config/build stuff.
