[Raid] Gold in Vanilla/TBC raids #283
Comments
Hello darkness my old friend. This is how it should work: In all dungeons and raids prior to Mists of Pandaria content, there should be a gold normalization effect on bosses that results in players receiving the same amount of gold soloing it as they would get a share of from a full group. Here’s an example: Prior to Pandaria, a 40-player raid boss in Blackwing Lair would drop about 160g, which works out to 4g per player if you brought 40 people. If you soloed this boss prior to Pandaria, you would loot 160g for yourself, and if you brought 2 players, you would split it and get 80g each. After the release of Mists of Pandaria, the gold normalization means if you solo the boss, it only has 4g on it. If you bring 2 people, it has 8g so you each loot 4g. If you bring all 40 people, it has its original gold value of 160g, so each player gets 4g. Source:
I wrote "bosses" when I wrote the above report initially, but the way it's phrased here and the videos you posted above suggest it also should apply to all trash in the dungeon as well. This doesn't apply to world bosses, but Doomwalker and Kazzak already drop pretty low gold on here and the old azeroth world bosses don't exist anymore. idk about the Cataclysm world bosses. |
Fix pending. |
Current behaviour:
The amount of gold dropped by every Vanilla and TBC raid boss and trash mob is greatly increased. Each boss drops about 150 - 200g. Trash mobs drop about a gold each.
Expected behaviour:
Classic bosses should drop about 1 - 5g each.
TBC bosses should drop about 10g each.
Trash mobs should drop very low amount of silver.
