Debops playbooks. Were they ever considered? #63
Comments
@damko I haven't seen the debops project before now. It looks interesting! If there are places where Streisand overlaps and it would be possible to import a Debops playbook in an Ansible-galaxy style to reduce our maintenance burden I'm all for it. |
Hi, DebOps author here. All of the DebOps roles are available via |
I haven't heard of debops until this post; browsed through the docs and a lot of stuff in there looks very promising. Certainly something to consider and discuss. |
Hey there, yet another DebOps person here :) I looked into WireGuard deployment in particular and compared the available solutions. What I really like about Streisand is it’s nice user documentation that it can generate. I looked at the code. Understandably, the playbooks are really tailored to solve one use case, break censorship and not really configurable to solve other uses cases as well. I think Streisand can still benefit from a good foundation such as DebOps. I keep your use case in mind when I now work on getting some form of WireGuard support into DebOps with the intent that Streisand could use this WireGuard support as foundation as well. I think the user docs generation could also be moved to the wireguard role I am working on at the moment. Ping me if you need help making the switch to DebOps :) |
I'm just curious to know if devs have ever considered to use debops playbooks as fundation for Streisand and their considerations on the topic
