Android - Back button doesn't take user back. Back icon on top left does.

When back button from navigation bar is clicked, the page doesn't go back like it does when back icon on top left of the app is clicked.

To reproduce, open any movie.
Try to press the back button on navigation bar. Nothing happens.
Press the back icon on top left. User is taken back to the previous page.

App version - 1.6.1
Phone- Samsung S10 Plus
OS- Android 12 - One UI 4.1

cant reproduce it, please record a video showing the issue.
