Everything starts with an issue

(read the article) but in summary, our take on that is:

  • Capture everything , no matter how small 'trivial' it seems at first- create an an issue for it

This is what may create a lot of issues. This is a positive thing because it keeps them out of DMs, out of only one persons head and out in the open for reasoning.

  • We don't fear 'too many issues' use search, labels if you must
    • People often see this as against 'backlog prioritisation' - it is, if an issue gets forgotten about it probably wasn't that important in the first place
    • Use labels where critical, but don't sink a job/time into issue management
