Steps to reproduce:

  • Load BizHawk and another window (e.g. Notepad)
  • Enable "Accept background input"
  • Run any ROM
  • Type into Notepad

Actual effect:

BizHawk accepts all inputs, including hotkeys that load save states, change settings, and other things

Desired effect:

BizHawk should only accept inputs that map to game controller buttons. The desired usage is to be able to play a game while taking notes in another window, chatting in Discord, and so on.

This option is available in the Snes9x client, which allows you to choose between accepting all input, or only controller input:
