Should make sure we support stuff like BMFont and the like for easy bitmap font generation as well.

Angelcode's bitmap font format is good, and if we need anything more (like bmf or zdoom's FON1/FON2) we can just write converters.

After the internal API rewrite adding bitmap fonts will be even easier. Angelcode spritefonts are especially doable now.
