Feature description

Filter for subscription feed. Like for video only, short only, livestream only, and long or short video only

Why do you want this feature?

I have a lot of channel subscription. And some of them are active streamers. Most of the time i only want to browse short duration videos on my subscription feed. And the amount of live streams both lives and archive usually make it a hassle to scroll down.

Dealing with channels that post a high number of videos really makes filtering a pretty basic feature.

Besides the suggested changes (long/short in particular being the most important IMO), being able to set up static (i.e. pre-configured) text filters for each channel would also do wonders to improve the situation.

Any news about this project?
I am thankful for the whole newpipe team fo their work!
I desperately need this function, even if only "the hide live streams" would work like "upcoming videos" filter.

The ability to do this by channel would be a huge plus, so that subscription groups only shows us what we want.

Might be useful to have the ability to pause updates for a subscription or put subscriptions into different categories. It's really easy to miss a high impact but low frequency publisher because your feed is bloated with many other interesting but high volume (and potentially hit or miss) publishers.

actually, i just realized that if I click the eyeball icon on the "What's new" tab, it lets me filter out Upcoming videos.

I think 4 simple features could solve all of this:

  1. when Subscribing to a channel, allow to put it directly into a group (such as comedy, culture, nature, science, politics, etc.).
  2. Allow groups to be displayed as tabs
  3. allow easier adding of channels to a group when in the group
  4. allow adding a channel to a group when in a channel

Right now the group feature exists, but it is just too hard to use.

For those who don't know, Settings > Content > Fetch Channel Tabs can filter out a lot of that content. Not exactly what OP wants, but useful to know.
