Lost 1,000 lines of code

after upgrading to version 4, all of a sudden one day I noticed a script i was working on was just missing part of the last bit of the script It literally cut off in the middle of a query and the rest of the script was just blank. I dug through history and found enough to recreate it and chalked it up to me not saving. Since then I've been saving at least once every 5 minutes. The application was lagging really badly so I closed it out this morning and when I re-opened it, I had lost over 1000 lines of code from the end of the same script I had been meticulously saving. I've got a pressing deadline coming up and i've just lost 2 weeks worth of work.
