  • I am running an official build of TWRP, downloaded from https://twrp.me/Devices/
  • I am running the latest version of TWRP
  • I have read the FAQ (https://twrp.me/FAQ/)
  • I have searched for my issue and it does not already exist

Device codename: sagit
TWRP version: 3.3.1-2

WHAT STEPS WILL REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM?

  1. power off the device
  2. power key and volume key + to enter recovery
  3. showing loading TWRP
  4. need to input password but the keyboard is like freezing, doesn't work at all
  5. automatically restart the recovery
  6. repeat step 3 to step 5 forever until force to power off by myself

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED RESULT?

can enter TWRP and work normally

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD?

can't enter TWRP and sticking at inputting password and restart TWRP itself again over again

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The only way to fix it I found so far is:

  1. get the device into fastboot mode
  2. use command fastboot boot twrp.img on PC's shell
  3. the device will reboot into TWRP, the password input keyboard can work and can get into the TWRP and do other things
  4. it can work normally until power off

The only thing I did before is to change the firmware of sagit, the zip file gotten from this site. Can the firmware also affect TWRP? I don't know.

When enter TWRP normally, if using the menu of TWRP (reboot => recovery), it can enter TWRP normally until power off.

============================

Update on 07/29:

I find that after trying to reboot into TWRP via command fastboot boot twrp.img on PC's shell, you cannot unplug the USB. If you unplug the USB, you can only input one letter for password and then stuck, then TWRP will reboot itself again over again.

I try the second time to go, and keep plugging the USB, everything works fine.

Now I am considering if it is due to the firmware. I use the firmware downloaded from this site and the version is V10.0.1.0.OCAMIFH. Maybe you can flash this firmware and test if reproduced.

I think maybe for Xiaomi phone, developers should show the support range of the firmware on the website, in case any other strange problems.

I'm not really sure, but maye 3.3.1-0 has the same problem. I think it's due to the firmware, maybe you can test if it will affect the performance of TWRP.
