MariaDB ensures a "drop-in" replacement capability with library binary equivalency and exact matching with MySQL APIs and commands. MySQL is already supported, so adding support for MariaDB should be quit easy.

It needs to be evaluated if the creation scripts from MySQL can and should be reused, or if custom ones should be written.
