Keys do not autorepeat when using tigervnc viewer 1.3.1-6.3.1(opensuse 13.2) with x11vnc 0.9.13-7.1.2.
Tightvnc works OK.
The issue is reproducible.

Does it work with other VNC servers? One guess is that x11vnc doesn't work correctly with the detectable key repeat that TigerVNC sends.

I see.
I tested the latest versions of tightvnc and realvnc viewers and they work OK with x11vnc.

I don't think either of those implement key repeat in a good way though. At least not their Linux clients.

I've verified this with x11vnc from Fedora 20 here. And with some debug logs in TigerVNC I can verify that we are sending the key presses. So this is a bug/misfeature in x11vnc and TigerVNC is working as intended.

But they still keep that bug alive.

Can you guys fix it?

Sorry, no. It would break things for other servers.

For posterity here... x11vnc -repeat may help... does here so far on multiple remotes.

Indeed command=x11vnc -repeat -forever -display :1 proved to be the solution, one of your engineers helped me out before. See StefanHoutzager/elixir-dev-anywhere-docker@4305e1a#diff-8466346a9df6610ab4098566eeb71681

I can't believe that option isn't the default

Is there a way to configure this or set it in the GUI?

Mind-blowing isn't it...
