Keys do not autorepeat with x11vnc server #66
Comments
Does it work with other VNC servers? One guess is that x11vnc doesn't work correctly with the detectable key repeat that TigerVNC sends. |
I see. |
I don't think either of those implement key repeat in a good way though. At least not their Linux clients. |
I've verified this with x11vnc from Fedora 20 here. And with some debug logs in TigerVNC I can verify that we are sending the key presses. So this is a bug/misfeature in x11vnc and TigerVNC is working as intended. |
But they still keep that bug alive. Can you guys fix it? |
Sorry, no. It would break things for other servers. |
For posterity here... |
Indeed command=x11vnc -repeat -forever -display :1 proved to be the solution, one of your engineers helped me out before. See StefanHoutzager/elixir-dev-anywhere-docker@4305e1a#diff-8466346a9df6610ab4098566eeb71681 |
works fine here |
I can't believe that option isn't the default |
Is there a way to configure this or set it in the GUI? |
Mind-blowing isn't it... |
Keys do not autorepeat when using tigervnc viewer 1.3.1-6.3.1(opensuse 13.2) with x11vnc 0.9.13-7.1.2.
Tightvnc works OK.
The issue is reproducible.
