Last time we saw something like this it was due to a change in the image...

Yes, this error looks identical to the previous tiledb-feedstock Windows-only failure from 3 weeks ago (#94 (comment)). Last time the problem was due to an update in Visual Studio in the image, and was ultimately fixed by updating vc-feedstock (#94 (comment)). I'll investigate.

It failed last night with Windows image version 20240603.1.0. It passed Monday night with Windows image version 20240514.3.0

Here is the upstream PR: actions/runner-images#9990 Confusingly it hasn't been merged yet. The Description says 20240603.1.1, but the actual version in the updated file is 20240603.1.0

I restarted the job to see which image it would use today, and it is still using 20240603.1.0

I think I found the Issue and an open PR with the solution:

• Issue: VS 17.10 Microsoft will break existing version scheme with upcoming VS 17.10 == vc 14.4 conda-forge/vc-feedstock#72
• Solution: Update vc-feedstock VS 17.10; == VS2022 Update 10 conda-forge/vc-feedstock#79

• Last night's tiledb-feedstock Windows build passed
• Because the fix was merged yesterday around 5 pm (VS 17.10; == VS2022 Update 10 conda-forge/vc-feedstock#79)
• Last night's tiledb-py-feedstock failure was due to a single linux-aarch64 build failing a flaky test

Two follow-ups:

• While the docs PR was only merged 9 hours ago (Windows Server 2022 (20240603) Image Update actions/runner-images#9990), the actual update was released 3 days ago (https://github.com/actions/runner-images/releases/tag/win22%2F20240603.1), which times up perfectly with the nightly failure 2 nights ago
• Confusingly the release notes say the version is 20240603.1.1, but the Azure logs say the version is 20240603.1.0. I'm not sure where the discrepancy is coming from
