Edge doesn't have the automatic tab discarding flag #1

There's no such flag in Edge called automatic tab discarding. The flag was removed in Chrome and the same goes for Edge. The only way is to install the Chrome extension Disable automatic tab discarding.

Thanks for letting me know! Disconcertingly, it looks like that extension might be in trouble now, too: WorldLanguages/DoNotDiscard#6.
