[Priest Bug] Power Word: Shield / Inner Fire #231

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Make a priest
  2. Use Power Word: Shield and Inner Fire buff
  3. Let be atacked by a mob or a player

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When you're hit by a mob/plyer and the Power Word:Shield is active the damage hit is absorbed by the spell. I see that Inner Fire stacks droping with every melee hit allthough I don't recieve any damage with melee swings.

What revision of the Core are you using? On what operating system?
11002 Unix

Please provide any additional information below.
Inner Fire - " A burst of Holy Energy fills the caster, increasing armor by X. Each melee or ranged DAMAGE hit against the priest will remove one charge. Last 30 min or until 20 charges are used. "

Very old bug, buged for like two years already, was only working in TC 3.2.2 till 3.3.0 patches. It really needs fixing, and is a huge nerf in PvP versus melee classes especialy rogues.

Click just to state out that power word shield is crashing the whole server when each player when duelling or PVP-ing (both priests) cast this spell on each other and then use devouring plague the realm crashes.

found this: Retriman@e5d1df8 with active=false it fix it. But it bug effects like "Bone Shield" that sould drop down charges...

i had the same problem
but fix with this commit : Retriman@e5d1df8

but just change the active = true; TO active = false; ( as dimiandre said )
