This one will need further elaboration following discussion in the WoW guild.

There are questions around what is the definition of "tool" here, is it a piece of tooling, a library, a dependency, a framework, etc?

Also there are questions around what "right" means, and how that can work with encouraging innovation but also abiding by registers and processes.

It's possible that a lot of the points made for this one are actually also covered by standards/principles/patterns in other guilds, so there's likely overlap here.

Discussed in WoW guild;

Maybe this is a Pattern rather than a Principle, with the pattern being more focussed around choosing a technology to solve a problem, or maybe there is space for both?

It would still be good to include a signpost to use the Tech Register, and utilising approved technologies somewhere. Using the right tool should also consider/include portfolio TDAs and governance functions.
