[KE2] How to represent SANs? #364

Does a SAN know about its history (how it was built originally)?
For example:

c := c1 + c2.

does c know that it is a sum ?
If the structure is not explicit in a SAN, how do we implement functional rates for example?

We need to implement Kendrick models as SAN.
