Determine if the helper method vs memory initialization method can be unified.

Memory manager tries to find previews automatically.
DB manager should probably try to do the same thing.

Can they use the same helper code with some Buffalo context nonsense when initializing.

This is just a little harder because of how they are both written and how the preview lookup code works... It is certainly possible but definitely annoying.
