There should be a way of filtering and displaying information about Power over Ethernet interfaces for instance to find which ones are not in use on a switch.

There is also a wish to see how much power is available on a given switch.

Imported from Launchpad using lp2gh.

POWER-ETHERNET-MIB provides relevant information and is supported on major platforms. However it does not provide mapping to physical modules/ports. For HP the mapping seems to be defined by convention like this: http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=3437443&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03580752

for cisco there is an extension mib: CISCO-POWER-ETHERNET-EXT-MIB that provides mapping
