Symptoms

Videos do not play. The game skips intro videos, but ingame videos (like resting in a shelter) turn the screen black and you only can do ALT+F4

Reproduction

Just start the game. There should be intro videos.

I tried to convert the videos to h.264 again, so they are playable in firefox

Looks like this game would benefit from support for Media Foundation maturing.

the game is pretty much platinum, but you do not see the ending video for one end (that would not be a big problem, since you can watch it from the folder, or on youtube)
but the other ending (as well as the prologue) has a video before the big fight and with this issue there is where this game ends for linux users.

Proton-5.9-GE-2-MF fixed the problem

videos do not work, but if i convert them to 30FPS with "ffmpeg -i input -filter:v fps=30 output" they just work with proton 8 and experimental. same audio and video codec.
why is that?
