System information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1575705714 from Dec 6 2019
  • Distribution: Manjaro
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Im not shure, it`s steam issue, or proton/sc/all of this.
SC rumble not work in games running with Proton without tweaks like this
solution on reddit
repo from author

Tested with games: Code Vein, Resident Evil 6 and 7, Witcher 3

Not shure about native games, tested only on CS:GO and rumble work fine, but i think it because game use SCAPI as default

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run steam on desktop/big picture
  2. Connect SC and setup feedback settings for controller and game
  3. Run any game via Proton

Hello @IDeathByte, we're tracking issues with games run with Proton in the Proton issue tracker, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report. Possible duplicate of ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux#4338.

Checked now. Solution with disable generic gp didn`t work in Code Vein
In RE6 worked

Many Proton/Wine titles seem to have delayed rumble & missed events, likely due to the delay. I've updated my comment on the rumble issue for the Steam Controller to include this as well as documenting which games work for me.

If you're not getting any rumble whatsoever, there must be a difference in our configurations. I noticed wireless rumble doesn't work reliably (or at all in many instances). Try the controller wired for testing rumble. It won't fix every title; the workaround you've mentioned may be needed for certain games to work currently. I haven't tested the library override/rumble shim provided; just the stock behavior in Steam.
