Symptoms

Game crashes on attempting to load the intro video with "Unable to create custom presenter"

Reproduction

Start the game.

Workaround

Rename the MOVIE directory to bypass the intro video playing. Movies are wmv.

New test on Proton 6.3-5 with a clean prefix:
Still crashes if the MOVIE directory is present, but the error is now as follows:
Graphics\DirectXValidate.cpp (5) : DXFAIL : Invalid parameter.

Log appears to indicate it's an mfplat issue.

I attempted playing further with the MOVIE directory renamed just to see stable the game was, but shortly after the first fight in the game it crashed. Another log of this crash (zipped due to size):
