Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Galactic Arms Race
  • Steam AppID of the game: 249610

System Information

GPU: AMD® Radeon (tm) rx 460 graphics
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz × 4

  • Proton version: 5.0-7

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

The game ran perfectly on the initial attempt. However, on all subsequent attempts, it crashed on startup. This issue persisted thru reinstallation of the game.

Reproduction

The exact steps to have the game run perfectly at first, then fail every time afterwards are unknown.

Line of importance:

Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics.NoSuitableGraphicsDeviceException: Video subsystem has not been initialized

SDL_Init appears to be failing, not sure why. Might be something unrelated to Proton itself, since it worked one time and not another.

How might I troubleshoot it?

Hello @kolgza, can you update your system information with the extended diagnostic information which didn't have a chance to finish being collected?
