Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Archangel™: Hellfire
  • Steam AppID of the game: 553880

System Information

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Game starts, shows for a couple seconds a black screen on the monitor (in the VR headset a loading screen appears, as usual), and crashes to the desktop. Valve Index, latest SteamVR beta

Not sure if that will be useful, but at least for testing, I I changed to Proton-4.11-13 for compatibility with windows 7, then used that "forbidden" <Removed by moderator> scripts, plus d3dcompiler_47, since there were errors in the proton log with mfplat libraries and d3dcompiler. After that, I ran the game with PROTON_LOG=1 WINEDEBUG=1 %command% for a shorter log, and got a rendering thread exception / EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. In any case, here's the log -- I know that this configuration is unsupported, but at least it might provide a clue.

Hello @Patola, as you expected, the workaround you mentioned is legally problematic and has been removed.
