I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Steel Assault demo will not launch. First run setup will install some things but the game silently terminates a few moments after clicking the 'play' button. No game window is visible at any point during this.

Reproduction

Install demo via Steam and click 'play' button.

Hello @nded03, from the log, Assertion failed: compare_hlsl_types(arg1->data_type, arg2->data_type), file ../../../../proton/wine/dlls/d3dcompiler_47/../d3dcompiler_43/hlsl.y, line 627 looks like a line of interest.
