Friend on windows verified that what's supposed to happen is the browser in the steamoverlay is supposed to open, with a website that is used to link your OSRS account with your steam account |
As a workaround, you can probably log onto the game's website directly and link your steam account from there. You might also be able to just disable Steam overlay, which would make it open in your default browser rather than the steam overlay browser. Alternatively, I know RS3 works for sure, at least with steam overlay disabled. You can link your Steam account through it, and then log in with it on OSRS and that should work. |
Works (almost) out of the box for me now. The client froze on initial login (after linking Steam account and logging in), but after restarting the client it worked like expected. The Steam overlay part worked fine. Running Pop!_OS 20.10/X11. |
Sometimes the game window doesn't display and hangs. I can see the process running on my system and on steam. To get it to launch, I have to click Stop, then Play again until it shows up.. usually after a few tries it works. Log when nothing is displayed. |
Tested on Proton 7.0-1 I did 10 launches in a row, 3 were successful in displaying the game window. Occasionally when clicking Play, the game immediately closes with error from Proton log.
