Symptoms

When running under Proton 9.0-1, I am unable to connect to any multiplayer servers. When attempting to connect to public servers, dedicated servers, shared games from friends, or direct IP connections, it will hang at "Sending join request". On the dedicated server I attempted to connect to, the logs showed a connection but it would time out.

Running the game under Proton 8.0-5 allows multiplayer connections to work, however the graphics are terrible. The framerate drops below 50fps, textures aren't shown correctly, and the clouds are pixelated. Running under 9.0-1, I can get 144+ fps on max settings (but can't connect to multiplayer!)

Reproduction

Run the game on any version of Proton above 8.0-5 and attempt to connect to any type of multiplayer server.
