I don't see a crash in that log output, did you run till crash? Or did the post truncate perhaps? |
You are correct it does not crash in the technical sense, the game just diapers but the game is still running. At the end of the output I Control+C'd steam. |
Okay, can you connect with gdb ("gdb -p ") and get a backtrace of this hang ("bt" is the command to run). I suspect an ALSA bug, do more linux savy guys here know something I should about ALSA? |
hopefully this backtace is useuful: |
That callstack looks normal, can you post your full OS details, perhaps it is a GPU issue. |
OS defaults? I don't think it's GPU issue as the game runs fine on Windows(or at lest it did last time I played it) |
Could still be a GPU issue, related to the linux driver. Can you provide the details we ask for on this page please: |
Oh... Xinerama is disabled. |
Can you try again after todays beta update. When you were changing levels were you in game with portals open? |
The issue I had was at the games main menu, I have not got into game yet. |
Okay, and it isn't fixed by today's update? |
Haven't tried todays update yet. Just a sec. |
Now selectiong "screen(1)" and hitting apply does nothing. Still have the audio bug as well. I noticed the Steam seems to have installed it's own version of ALSA(under .Steam) which I bet is not configured correctly. |
Closing as general video driver quality from 2013 is no longer relevant. If you are still experiencing this issue with an up to date system, please open a new issue report. |
Trying to get the game to display on monitor 1(2nd monitor) causes the game to crash. I then have to kill it and when I start it up again it comes up in a window but I can't click anything. I have to reload be deleting my configuration file.
