Accidentally did an alt+tab, returning to desktop. I know this crashes source games sometimes and it did during a competetive match.

Unfortunately I was unable to reconnect to the match. Gave up trying after the sixth time. There were still 2 friends (Lieven and Anthony, not that this matters but they wanted to be mentioned on this report and I'm getting payed for that) playing on that match.

I've had multiple similar crashes by now but not always accompagnied with the inability to rejoin a competitive match. Might be two separate bugs.

Was trying to reproduce this to get a backtrace and this is what I got. Happened when repetively alt-tabbing while/after loading a new map:

This doesn't seem too helpful though as it's in the nvidia drivers.

If you disable multithreading, do you still get crashes?

+Thanks for checking ceribik.
I will try it when I get a chance without multithreading but without multithreading my fps is way too low.
So it might help to find the bug but if it works it won't be a workaround for me.

EDIT: sometimes it crashes after alt+tab, sometimes not. That's why it's difficult to check with multicore rendering disabled (too low fps).

Closing as general video driver quality from 2014 is no longer relevant, if you are still experiencing this issue, please update to a recent driver release and if the issue persists, please open a new issue report.
