[GoldSRC] Custom resources download problem #1165

Today i was starting on some server with a huge custom resource content. Im start connecting and downloading all of them. Im get following:

And traffic stats:

Normally. HL using Steam for downloading resources. Everything looks fine except always "complete" message bar.

Ok, im finished this stage of downloading and start downloading map resources:

But something is wrong:

HL downloading those files by himself and 5kb/s . Im doesnt reconnecting. Im just finished this part of downloading and start map resource downloading.

Im tryed to restart HL client and connect again. And WHAT? im Start downloading those files again from first stage! But those files are already in valve_download folder but client forced to download them.

Please read this report fully and fix this faster as you can. There is at last 2 bugs:

  • forcing download files from servers instead of fastdl
  • forcing download already downloaded files

Client version: 6027 (latest beta build)
Server IP: 91.144.179.166:27018

Fix that!

Not a bug. You're downloading some files using FastDL (when you don't see download progress, issue #934), then you're downloading files from HLDS (using UDP, that's why downloading speed is so slow), because they're not available on provided FastDL hosting.

Im Start downloading those files again from first stage!

I think that happens because Half-Life doesn't know why you(if it was you) have canceled downloading, so game doesn't know if files are corrupted or everything's fine so redownloading them is the best solution.

No. At first time im downloading files from FastDL when it finished and downloader proceeded to downloading custom map its start using direct downloading.

All content files are exists on FastDL server.
Here is one of them which is shoved in my screenshots:

Also where to go those files after downloading? Im cant find them in valve_downloads folder after download complete.

Im dont know why it says Failed HTTP download.
Im have stable 256 kbit/s (30 kb/s) ADSL internet connection with low ping.

I notice this rarely, because i download at 1,3mb/s (~10mbps). I think on low connections this is frequently... Maybe can be reproducible if reduce internet speed in some way...
