Comments
What does "fc-match verdana" and "fc-match arial" say? If this is the case then install "corefonts" (MS fonts) or "DejaVu fonts" they should be in you package manager. |
in my case, the font is unreadable on Ubuntu RR |
I have the same issue with Half-Life on my Arch Linux System. |
@julre , @revo4ever please answer my question to help with debugging this problem. |
@DarkDefender i just installed the MScore fonts but the cs chat font is unreadable |
Please paste output of the fc-match commands here. |
@DarkDefender Here is the output from the terminal DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book" |
Is that the output from verdana or arial? Either way it should work. But you are not using the MS fonts. You can see which order the fonts are picked it by adding a "-s" flag. so for me the verdana output is:
|
@DarkDefender i installed the Microsoft fonts correctly valve@valve-HP-Elite-PC: |
fc-match -s |
resolved? |
I am getting the same issue here. Here is screenshot of what I'm getting: In order to go around it, I have to go (blindly) through the interface to find the options for changing the resolution and this restarts the game and texture and text now don't disappear. However, once the game is restarded, I can't join any server as the server lists are all empty (see #2895, or my comment on this issue). As I'm explaining in this comment, I can sort of go around the issue by joinging a server blindly with the interface that has text gone as the interface is still functional. However, I never know what game I'm joining. I normally order them by ping (blindly) and select the first one. However, if I once hit the keys So, in summary, I can still "play" if I'm cautious with the keys I'm hitting and if I don't care the server I'm joining and if I don't mind having to restart the game several times (changing the resolution), but that's quite annoying. System info
UPDATE (2020-05-25) I can confirm that I can play without this issue on an intel integrated GPU based system. However, the restart issue (#2895) still occurs. |
When i run Counter-Strike 1.6 on my Linux Mint 14 i do not see any text in game, even i can not see what i am writing in console.
