More details to be added later, but TLDR:

There are tests conducted by me and someone else separately that confirmed the following:

The unbunching by IPT2 does not seem to work even by itself. This means that while there are unbunching problems observed when using EBS + IPT2, it is probably IPT2's problem at the core. As such, those IPT2-related problems will be put to low priority until further notice.

#13 is affected.

Recommendation to change to TLM

Always enable specific config for every transport line in your city!

By changing to TLM, the following IPT2 features are kept (or may reasonably change into another form):

  • Line budget
  • Vehicle select

Unfortunately, these IPT2 features will be lost or changed in a strong way; see if you are willing to take a compromise:

  • Passenger change per vehicle per stop: instead of tracking each vehicle and checking their pax change, you could consider also using Commuter Destination (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2475986859) to track destinations for the same stop, which should be more convenient than the IPT2 way
  • Profit per vehicle: you can view line overall profits instead; or, go to line view -> Profit Current Week
  • Unbunching points: TLM line stop list -> right click on stops to mark them as terminus (star shape)
    • TLM has a useful feature to shift stop order in a line so that, internally, another stop becomes the first stop in line; useful to use with EBS; go to line view -> Starts At
  • Specific model select (eg I want 5x Volvo and 2x B8L): no replacement, bus spawning is fully random
  • Day-night select: TLM offers generalized replacement, and day-night select is equivalent to setting the budget to >0% for eg from 6am (6) to 6pm (18)

Update:

The IPT2 (Community) Update works with EBS, and is a replacement to the original IPT2; you can find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864524762

There is also this good news that the bunching problem mentioned in #13 has been fixed (you still need to update this mod and the IPT2 plugin!), so there is no longer an explicit need to preach conversion to TLM.

Therefore, closing this.
