I would like to create a read-only app. For security reasons, I would like to use the API with a seperate user account who only has read-only access.

Do you know if this is possible at IBKR?

I can see why you may need such a use case, good idea. Unfortunately, I never found myself needing such a setup so I don't know the answer right off the bat. I'd suggest you speak to IBKR support team, as they should know whether such read-only user account would be possible.

From IBeam's perspective it shouldn't matter. As long as you provide the right credentials, IBeam will use them to authenticate. But yeah, at the same time is not dependant on IBeam, it's whether IBKR allows that.

I'm going to close this issue for now, as it seems to be directed at IBKR rather than IBeam. Please reopen and provide more information if needed. Thanks 👋
