It would be wonderful if there was a way to cap scientists, because once you pass a certain point, gathering science yourself is as effective or better than the amount of scientists the scripts hire. Allowing a cap (say, 100) would leave enough trimps to help with the early parts of a portal but not waste so many later on.

Would like that as well, I usually always end up disabling "Hire scientists" and firing all the extra ones past the beginning of the run, but automating that would be nice

Same problem.. no need to get more scientist to recruit or gather but he still do it..

How high are you guys running? The script already automatically fires all scientists at a certain point. I think it is tuned fine for speed-running up through this point. Maybe you guys are below that point?

Can confirm I don't have this problem anymore, not sure at which point the feature kicked in, think it was around 30 portals or so.
