Under certain conditions (unknown what causes it) if autocrispy crashes in the middle of processing an image, after that you can open the program but it will not process any more files.
I have tried Upscale Image, Batch processing, changing backends, Threads, In/Out folders, and delete all the files, re-downloaded everything with no luck.

It happened a couple months ago as well, after I reinstalled my OS I tried autocrispy again with the same files and it worked fine.

I've been trying to narrow down this issue - it hasn't yet happened to me, and I haven't yet reproduced it (as the cause is unknown still!).

The last time I heard of this, it seemed like the backend was crashing, and AutoCrispy wouldn't run it again while it was crashed.

If you don't mind, I have a few questions:

Is AutoCrispy itself crashing? Did it close, and have an error window?

What happens when you restart Windows?

What kind of hardware are you running (CPU/GPU/RAM)?

I don't believe its AutoCrispy crashing but the backend. Last time it happened it looked like the backend ran out of VRAM, whole computer froze then crashed. no error message

AutoCrispy will open, but wont do anything when you try to upscale. That's with both warm and cold reboot.

Windows 10 pro (v2004)
i7 8700k
RTX 2080 FE
32 GB 3200mhz Corsair vengeance

I have also notice before every once in a while when you stop AutoCrispy mid way delete the input files, put different input, and start upscaling again it will still be working on the original files that where deleted.
So its not clearing/flushing the backend queue sometimes, don't know if this helps any

Here, go ahead and try this:

Under "Advanced", turn on output logging. This will make AutoCrispy spit out a log each time it tries to upscale.
Try upscaling a single image, and shoot me the log.

Depending on the log, we might be able to tell if it's an issue with AutoCrispy, the backend, or even perhaps with a driver.

Update: Either installing python or a clean gpu driver install fixed it. I'll keep dumping logs if the same issues pops backup

Hello same issue happened to me! It seems when I try to upscale an image it tries to upscale every time an image that has failed.

I tried to upscale a different image and saved it as exam room. But the error is stuck at justin serious.png
