I think the glossary will make more sense if it is not possible to create duplicated terms. There are many duplicated terms on our glossary. I think they tend to happen when translators for different languages add terms to the glossary without adding 'terminology'.
My proposal is that a translator on a second language adds the same word, it has to become a 'terminology' word and appear on the rest of the languages for translation.
Also: when you are creating a duplicated term, you get a message sending you to the first version of the string in the glossary.
Also: Possibility of merging terms when they are the same.
