I had a weblate that had been badly configured a few years ago. So, there were loads of contributions, which I captured, and then re-initialised.

I uploaded the new translations back to my repository, and created a new component in Weblate, which was configured correctly.

However, to avoid confusion to my translators, I wanted to remove the old component. The only option I had was to remove, which got me to this page:

I did click "Yes, I'm sure", which as an aside took a very long time, but it would have been nicer to click something like "No, hide instead".

I would like to

  1. remove it from the listing, to avoid confusion
  2. keep it around, just in case I made a mistake and I need to recover some work that was done on that component

System is here: https://translate.phplist.org

Oh, and the "yes, I'm sure" ended up with

(using the dockerised version)

Oops, sorry, I was logged in with a "bot account". I posted the above issue.

Oh, and going back, I did get

So, it did work, but had some timeout issues.

You can remove component directly in Weblate, the Django admin interface is not recommended for this. See https://docs.weblate.org/en/latest/devel/translations.html#removing-existing-translations

This issue looks more like a support question than an issue. We strive to answer these reasonably fast, but purchasing the support subscription is not only more responsible and faster for your business but also makes Weblate stronger. In case your question is already answered, making a donation is the right way to say thank you!

Yes, but my point is not the removal, it's a feature request to be able to hide a component, without removing it. I've looked everywhere, but can't find it.

Not sure I get the use case here.

You can adjust permissions to achieve that - set https://docs.weblate.org/en/latest/admin/projects.html#restricted-access
