Sending groups message turns sms into mms

I noticed a strange behavior when I'm writing a sms to more than one person the sms turns into a mms. In this group there are textsecure and non textsecure members. It worked before.

Same behavoir if a person uses textsecure and sends a sms to me and some others - I get a mms. Also if there the other person sends a message to two textsecure users (I am one of them)

Correct, we now use MMS for group messaging. This enables the "conversation" feature and is more reliable than sending X number of duplicate SMS messages.

Thats sad ... mms are more expensive than sms. And people who don't have a smartphone or don't use textsecure won't get an mms just a message form the provider, that there was an mms incoming. Also users who don't have 3G enabled all the time. Could that be converted to an option or feature. For example you can choose in the settings if you mms or sms for group messages?

You shouldn't use 3G in order to receive an MMS. Your Android phone
will temporarily disable 3G in order to connect to the MMSC.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that we can support SMS group messaging.
