I often see questions or requests about adding support for other SolarEdge devices like the hot water controller, backup interface, and smart car charger. The short answer is no, these devices can't simply be "added". The
solaredge-modbus-multi
integration currently implements all known device data points that the inverter is providing over modbus/tcp. The reason these other devices haven't been added yet is because there is no known supporting developer information or documentation about them.In order to add support for new inverter-attached devices where information is currently unknown, I need either a list of modbus/tcp register addresses and their type/size, or documentation that lists the modbus/tcp registers. If you have this information and would like to see support added please submit it to the doc directory.
It's very likely that many of these extra devices won't be supported until someone either happens to find undocumented registers in modbus/tcp, or SolarEdge needs to implement new registers to be added to their modbus/tcp support. While I would like to see all possible devices supported by the integration, support is limited to devices that SolarEdge will include support over modbus/tcp. Although these additional devices may be controllable over the SolarEdge cloud API or cloud app, those are separate and unrelated to modbus/tcp.
