Avast treats LazyFixTool as virus. #14
Comments
I sent request to Avast about false alarm with file and his sources. This utility converting graphics and safe. |
Uhm, it is very usual that it is because of the external libs. The two libs, which are used are GIF and BMP lib, and these are the ones, which should be sent as false alarm. Every Antivirus is making a fingerprint of an program and searches for suspicious code. This libs may are used for viruses. I don't know 😑 |
Archive requires password to extract and , therefore, cannot be scanned by antivirus. |
Oops, password is "virus", I forgot say them, same archive I was sent to Avast |
The result is the same - antivirus quarantines contents on extraction. |
False alert, you can send request about false alert too with link to sources of this utility. |
The utility no longer treated by Avast as virus. Thanks. |
Well, it seems that we need to start over again. Anyway, could you send the file to virus total and send me the result link? I would like to know how many virus scanner indicates it as a virus. |
Oh, again, false alert... Will send file ti Avast (Please, always send me versions of VirusDB and of avast) EDIT: Update your virus base, I think, you have too old. If alert repeats - Will send report |
I did a run through virus total: https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/8e84bd70f8f116b6516f54db78d4029c87e9a7328d4b10afd0612e6c407cbaf1/analysis/1406097145/ Strangly enought, the web avast system, doesn't mark it as dangerous. There is only one virus programm which marks this app as dangerous too (see report). |
Is it fixed yet? |
Yes. |
I am using Avast Free Edition antivirus. Downloaded PlatGEnWohl editor (mainly for testing, with HQ music) and during archive extraction, antivirus found a virus in LazyFixTool app and thrown the .exe file into quarantine.
