This interactive workshop will help you get set up so you can start that blog you've always dreamed of in 2023! By the end of this interactive workshop, your blog will be ready to start posting new content immediately.

You will...

Set up and stylize the new block theme, Twenty Twenty-Three on a WordPress host of your choosing
Set a site title, tagline, and logo of your choice
Home Page: Set up a homepage to display new blog posts in a layout of your choosing
About Page: Use patterns to create an 'About' page of your choosing
Contact Page: Set up a Contact Form so users can reach you
Create Categories & Tags to help you stay organized from the start
Learn how to manage comments on individual posts
Explore individual post settings so that you know what is important for accessibility, search engines, and how to share your posts on social media.
What should you do to prepare? (Optional)

Find yourself a WordPress host of your choice and consider choosing a domain name so that you can get started blogging right away. (We can also provide a temporary sandbox website so you can follow along if you're not ready to commit to a host) If you're not sure where to start, this course on Getting Set Up with WordPress is for you.
Pre-Plan your 'About' page. You'll want a photo of yourself or one that represents you or something you'd like on your blog and a little bit of content. Don't worry about what it will look like at this point -- all you need is the information you think your readers would want to know about you, your company, or your topic.
Bring a logo! If you plan to use a logo on your WordPress website, please make sure to have this ahead of time so you can use this from the start.
Consider brainstorming a list of blog post topics you might want to write about. This will help you consider which categories you would like to include.

This workshop will take around two hours -- the first hour is dedicated to setting up the look and feel of your website, and the second is to explore post settings and what you need to know to feel confident blogging from the start.
