Details

  • Topic description: Online Workshop / Tutorial with an overview and onboarding of Github system used by the WordPress Core Project. This idea came up while onboarding new contributors (some of whom were not well versed with Github) in the Mentorship cohorts.
  • Audience (User, Developer, Contributor, etc.): Anyone new to contributing to WordPress Core
  • Learning objectives (What will the learner be able to do as a result of this content?): Helping new contributors (without Git skills) navigate Core on Github easier and possibly start participating / contributing earlier than usual.

Related Resources

Currently there are two lesson plans I could find around Github learning - but one is focused on Gutenberg specifically and the other is focused on triage but nothing on some basics overview for Github to get users started on Core.

This is a great idea! Closing in favor of #1828 which suggests a similar idea.
