Expected Behavior

When entering # a list of rooms should show (at least those you have joined, ideally all of community.wordpress.org)

Actual Behavior

The list can be incomplete for some users.

Steps to Reproduce

Enter #m in a message, it should autocomplete rooms like #meta and #matrixhelp.

Environment

  • Element Web

Since @ashfame updated the room's main address:

It now works for me:

The issue for me is it only shows rooms I've joined. Slack showed all available rooms.

In your example, #m should show a lot more channels.

I understand where you are coming from. Matrix is federated, thus the potential rooms to autocomplete would be enourmous. I could see how you'd want the rooms from the whole server be suggested but what should it do for people who use another homeserver?

I need to test if autocomplete works for all rooms in a Space. (See https://make.wordpress.org/chat/matrix/organizing-rooms-with-spaces/)

Ah, that makes sense, thank you!
