Category is missing on few post (Breadcrumbs)

Please give us a description of what happened.

Most post are showing Home > Category > Post Name.
However, few post are not showing category instead showing Home > Post Name.

I change divi to twenty seventeen, also tried removing all cache, enabled/disabled breadcrumbs or yoast. Problems remain the same. I tried to use different breadcrumbs plugin like NavXT. Everything was fine.

Please describe what you expected to happen and why.

I want all post to show the category the way it was doing a month back.

Can you go to Settings -> Permalinks and make a screenshot of the settings there? Also, can you go to the breadcrumbs settings and also make a screenshot of those?

I can't reproduce the issue. What happens if you update the post? Does the category show up then? And if you select a different category, does that change anything in the breadcrumbs?

Can you also do the following:

• Log in to your WordPress website.
• Deactivate all non-Yoast plugins.
• Switch your theme to a standard theme like Twenty Seventeen.
• Test if the issue still occurs.

If it still occurs:

• Add a summary of the above steps to your bug report.

If it doesn't occur anymore:

• Reactivate all non-Yoast plugins one-by-one.
• Test for the issue again after every plugin you reactivate.

You can also use the Health Check plugin to check for conflicts (how to check for plugin conflicts). We always recommend to regularly create a backup.

I'm guessing it's something specific to your site and then I can't help you further on GitHub.

After updating the post or changing category or even using two categories at same time - No change. The breadcrumbs does not show the category on few such post.

I followed everything what you said. I created a staging site. Deactivated all plugins except Yoast, changed the theme to default Twenty Seventeen. Even cleared Hosting cache and disabled it. The problem remained the same. I even checked source code and it was same blank with id and name {"@id":"","name":""} in the breadcrumbs list that is created by Yoast. Most of the post that were showing category were working like earlier.

I also added a plugin Breadcrumb NavXT before going through all these steps and also at the end. And All post were showing category in the breadcrumbs.

I guess the problem is with Yoast SEO only since my site had no plugin and only default WP theme Twenty Seventeen with no extra code added and Yoast. Regards.

This issue is now several months old.

Going back to the OP and checking https://www.studyfrenchspanish.com/blog/job-opportunities-french-language-india/ , I find that the BreadcrumbList is populated correctly.

The issue looks to be resolved. If not, please feel free to let us know. If you do, please make sure to provide up to date information like version numbers and examples.
