Permalink structure is incorrect for taxonomies and custom post types

When setting a custom permalink structure such as http://example.org/%category%/%postname%, the permalink structure is not properly reflected in the Snippet Preview for taxonomies and custom post types. Custom post types do not display the category name and a taxonomy (i.e. a category) does not display the category's name.
