3.CFW.1 Backing up & Patching

This page (If it's not obvious) is for CFW route.

The Process

Backup

On your PlayStation 3:

  1. Plug your FAT32 formatted USB drive in the most right USB port.
  2. While you’re in the page, click on ”Flash Memory” (Under the check)
  3. Choose dev_usb000 and then Save.

Verify

On your Computer:

  • Using PyPS3Checker, it requires you to install python 3.11 at least.
  1. Connect your USB Flash drive to your Computer.
  2. Copy "dump.bin" to your Desktop.
  3. Drag "dump.bin" to "drag&drop_your_dump_here.bat"
  • After loading the app and checking the integrity of the dump file it, the number of warning and dangers are 0.
  • IMPORTANT: SAVE THIS FILE SOMEWHERE SAFE AS IF YOUR PS3 UNFORTUNATELY GETS BRICKED YOU CAN RESTORE IT.

Patch

NOTE: PATCH IS A PERMANENT MODIFICATION ON YOUR PS3. ONCE YOU DO IT, IT CANNOT BE REMOVED.

On your PlayStation 3:

  1. Click on "Flash Memory Patch” —-> ”Load Patch via HTTP”
  1. After it finishes, click on ”Flash Memory Patch” —-> ”Apply loaded Patch”
  • Read the warning carefully and accept it.
  1. Restart your PS3.

Your PS3 is now exploited and ready to be jailbreak'ed!
