ZK should run offline without steam

If you previously installed ZK (downloading all that is required) then try to run it offline, it should work.

Apparently it does not. It at least tries to update for a long time.

Weird, I setup a shortcut to the zerok.exe that's in my steam install folder and it launches just fine even if steam is not open. But is this particularly about steam offline mode?

Steam in offline mode was still handled by steam. To test it you need the standalone installer.

Oh, can you clarify in the issue that this is about the standalone version not running offline, whereas the steam version does, if that is indeed what you are trying to communicate?

Test it with "portable" and no internet connection.
