Sometimes I can see items inside the "Select LCS in Part" sometimes, most of the time, I can see nothing there. I am unsure what is going on, but the LCS list is empty.

I was about to report this hours ago, but then suddenly it started working.. but after some time, the LCS stopped being displayed to place one part.

For instance, these are my objects

This is what I am getting, most of the time. An empty list.

very strange. You seem to be using a Snap version, could you please test with an AppImage and see whether that happens also ?

Indeed, very strange. Sure. I have both versions, sometimes I use one, sometimes another.

This is what I get with the AppImage, still the same.

My file is here if you want to check it yourself.

My report view shows this. It may be related, I am going to check and clean the old stuff, maybe freecad is doing some confusion.

There is something wrong with that model: the LCS aren't shown in the 3D window either. I tried adding anolther LCS to those bodies and they aren't visible either.

When I create another Body, in Asm4 or PartDesign, then the LCS it contains are shown in the 3D window and in the LCS list.

How did you create those bodies ?

Try this : select the body, go to the Property View, there go to the View tab, and in the Base section look at the Display Mode, and choose "Through" instead of "Tip".

How did you create those bodies ?

Using the snap version of freecad and the toolbar buttons of asm4.

I will try your sugesttion to remove and reinstall the asm4, too.

There is a problem in your file: the Display Mode of the bodies that fail is set to Tip instead of Through . Nothing to do with Asm4

I did not visit the file again, I've been really busy and tired. But sure. If this is the issue, then I am closing this here. Now I don't understand why Freecad keeps changing this. It looks like every time it gets back randomly to this useless setting.
