I'm not that good in design. Instead of having to pick all the colors manually and messing things up to look pretty ugly, I'd find it much easier to pick from a few pre-configured "color combinations", where they all go together well – e.g.:

  • Default (aka "Basalt", referring to the screenshots in resources/images/; the one used now – so one can always "reset")
  • ApLite (the "b&w" one for more contrast)
  • Bernstein (basically a "different b&w", like the old "bernstein monitors")

In this context, it would of course be phantastic if one could export/import such "skins" – so users could exchange their hand-made configurations.

Thanks in advance for considering! I might have suggested that in the forum, but the forum link given here and on the store just leads to a 404… an I don't even have an account there :)

Hey,

sorry for my late reply.
Forum link: i fixed the forum link (here & in the store :) )
Skins: Yeah that sounds like a good idea but since the user count is so low i don't know if there is someone you can share your skins with :'(

I'll keep it in mind, for a first version i could implement an manual color hex code entry

@aHcVolle expect the user count going up by middle of next month, as I've featured TrekVolle in an article on Gadgetbridge which will be published then in the famous German IT magazine c't 😜

I meanwhile found that replacing the dark-orange bits by "sand-yellow" was sufficient for me: much better contrast and doesn't look that "alerting". Reconfiguring it that way was much less troublesome than I had expected, so I don't feel my feature-request that important anymore.

I like the design, so TrekVolle now is my standard watchface. Thanks a lot for making it! And special thanks for choosing clay for configuration, which makes it going along great with Gadgetbridge. Meanwhile including the weather part :) Thought it might be good to know for you that the Pebble and TrekVolle will continue to work despite of the Pebble cloud going down end of the year.

Awesome.
Yeah i was just reading the thread on gadgetbridge's github about the weather integration.
I'm impressed that my watchface is already implemented :)
I think that'll be the first c't i'm going to buy since a year or so :)

I think as soon as the weather notification implementation is released in f-droid (and not just in master) i'll switch over to gadgetbridge.

It even was just the 2nd one to be, thanks to my putting it on the priority list 😜

So I shall let you know the exact issue as soon as I know it. That article is just being finalized now, and I was told it's scheduled for mid-February. There will be another special edition on "Android without Google", scheduled for February 4th, which might be worth a look (not just for my having contributed an article to that, too ;)

I think as soon as the weather notification implementation is released in f-droid (and not just in master) i'll switch over to gadgetbridge.

Then go on, you've already missed that. Was being released with v0.17 (current version is 0.17.2). I can definitely confirm it's working, as I'm using that combination.

Hope you liked the c't articles 😇

Still using TrekVolle as my favorite watchface and really, really like it (since I installed it and managed to find my color combination, I saw no need to even try a different one). From my end, the feature request is "low prio" now (as I already decided for my color combination). Still, it might be welcome by some users – especially with the option to save one's own creations and switch between them.

Just wanted to give you a short heads-up and 👍
