Hi.

Would useful to be able to exclude certain folders from search, e.g.
MySessions, Save for Read Later, BSP2 trash folder, iMacros, FreshStart, Quick save, window 1, etc.
Maybe a little text field where each line holds the exact phrase (of the folder name to be excluded).

And related to the bookmark manager (not sure if you can fix that), there is a column missing for folders (which the FireFox folks forgot, but maybe you can fix it).

Thx for considering ;)

One more thingy: for same domains, it does not have to pull the favicon again, e.g. after the first pull for github.com, any other github.com bookmark could just quickly take the already stored favicon, would that be possible?

Hello @gthb1, in the order of your questions:

1- Currently, you can search inside a folder, 1 level only or recursively, using the search menu appearing when clicking on the magnifier glass. You can also use regex searches for complex queries, allowing exclusions. And BSP2 trash folder is systematically ignored in displayed results, unless you chose in the options to display the BSP2 trash.

However, right now, there is no option to filter out other folders, it would need more thinking.
That triggers in itself another problem = how to notify the user that a "folder filter" is active, and so they do not see the full set of results ?
Maybe instead, include something in the results pane to be able to add filters .. not sure. As said, need more thinking on it.

2- Add-ons cannot act on the Bookmark manager, sorry .. so nothing I can do there.

3- This point was already discussed in #51. A favicon per domain is not aligned with the purpose of favicons, which are at document level = many sites have differing favicons between pages. Also, if we were to transgress that, then there would be the problem of which one to take when several pages have a differing one.
And last, favicons are refreshed in BSP2 using the ones obtained in tabs by Firefox, so anyway having only one per domain is not possible.

This idea of excluding folders could be very useful. For example, I have a folder containing thousands of bookmarks to things I may choose to read someday as well as a folder containing thousands of bookmarks to videos that would be enjoyable to watch in my elusive free time. Unless I want to specifically search one of those 2 folders, I generally do not want results from those folders to appear in bookmark search results.
